Nigel Skinner
1953-2002
Nigel Skinner Trophy
Nigel Skinner was a hugely popular and active member of the SCMCC and an avid motorcyclist.
On February 28th 2002 he was involved in an accident with a car on his way home from work. He died as a result of his injuries on March 1st 2002. The driver of the car, who was held completely liable for the accident, was convicted of causing death whilst driving under the influence of drink - he was 2 times the limit - and is currently serving 5 years.
In order to commemorate our late friend and colleague the SCMCC commissioned a trophy which is awarded at the AGM to the member who has contributed the most to the club in the preceeding year, as voted by the membership themselves.
This year the trophy was presented to James and Ann Brown for their stirling contribution in organising and running the Three Stage Trial.
